Cancer!? Story Time
In my senior year of high school, I felt a lump in my stomach. I weighed roughly about 105 lbs give or take, so I was pretty skinny. When I would lie down, I could feel this hard, round lump in my stomach and it was uncomfortable. I proceeded to tell my mom, who then told me, "It's just your abs", because like I said, I was pretty tiny.
Fast forward to 6 months later, the lump got bigger and I told my mom so she felt it and her first reaction was, "OH MY GOD! You're pregnant!". 😒Umm no. This was the lump I was telling her about.
She took me to get an ultrasound and turns out I had a cyst on one of my ovaries. I was freaking out and thought I had cancer! They biopsied it in the following weeks and thankfully it was benign and non cancerous. 🙌
I ended up getting surgery to remove the 8lb cyst. It was almost like having a baby! I was in the hospital for over a week, and stayed home from school for almost a month to recover. It was one of the scariest times of my life!

That sounds horrible. I would've been in so much shock and scared for my life if I was in your position too. I heard that cysts are mostly non cancerous though, and I'm glad you got it removed safely!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very traumatic experience, especially at that age. Eight lbs would be a big baby, especially for you size. Excellent that it was benign.
